“It has only been a few weeks since my team and I took over the ownership of 24-7 Steller Packing, but in that short time we’ve been able to start making the changes that will safeguard this amazing Company’s future for the long term.
A business is nothing without its staff and this was uppermost in my mind in deciding to buy the company when it went into administration. We were able to secure 30 permanent jobs and over 100 temporary jobs. In the run up to Christmas that was a really important factor for me.
Companies don’t go into administration without good reason and it was clear that there were policies, procedures and decisions being made sadly that ultimately led to that result. Our arrival puts a line in the sand. We are putting this right.
24-7 Steller Packing is a long-established brand with a great customer base and a fantastic team of people committed to delivering the best service. We’re going to bottle the best of the past – including the amazing commitment of our staff – but take all necessary steps to bring success back. That process has already begun.
The first step has been ensuring we have the right leaders in places across the business, bringing in a new and experienced management team to review, revive and revitalize the Company. They’re making a great start.
We are very fortunate to have the caliber of Julian Williams-Dalson as our site director. Every part of the business will report into him from sales and production to technical, HR and finance. His experience and expertise in this industry – including past roles as head of operations at ABP UK Ltd and group operations director at Anglo Dutch Meats – will be vital as we turn around the business.
He will be ably supported by a new management team who will oversee improvements that will help to transform the way we operate and the way we deliver for our customers across the UK.
That change will begin with our move to new office space here at our site in Paddock Wood, which will give us the right configuration of space to enhance our production area and extend storage space.
Once we have laid the foundations, we will be looking at how we can make better use of technology, including the potential for some automation and investment in new equipment.
All that is left for me to say is to thank our amazing staff for their professionalism over recent weeks as we’ve rung the changes; and to customers old and new for their continued support. Under our management, we won’t let you down.
